While there is still some of the radio friendly hip hop tracks, like the bouncy single "LOL:)" and the club banger "Say Aah", he focuses a lot more on the grown and sexy tracks instead of the club songs. Im not saying the album is perfect, but its definetly his best yet.

But with Ready, we get to see Trey at his most mature point yet. And on Trey Day, the production got a lot better, but he traded in his soulfulness for more of a hip hop swagger to make the album more radio friendly, which in the end, was both a good and bad thing. On Treys debut album, we got introduced to the soulful young man, and it was a solid debut, but it was extremely under produced, and therefore came off as boring in some parts. So the stage is set for Ready to be Trey's breakthrough album, and in a lot of ways, thats just what Ready is, his breakthrough. But ever since "Can't Help But Wait" exploded, Trey Songz has had a lot hype around him and this album, Ready. And on his second album, Trey Day, he stepped it up a little bit, and actually started working with some big names, such as Stargate, B.Cox, and Dre & Vidal, which helped a lot, but besides the smash single "Can't Help But Wait" (Which earned him a Grammy nom.), again the album didnt do much. He only managed to have one moderate single off that album in "Gotta Go", which brought in some record sales, but nothing major that would launch his career. And it didnt really help that he didnt have any big names backing him up either. No one knew who he was, or where he was coming from, there for his debut album, I Gotta Make It, flopped. And honestly, it doesnt really surprise me, because at the start of his career, he was a nobody. A lot of people have been sleeping on Trey from the start of his career.
