The only disappointment with G2 was bad (yellowish) photos in low light. Still, with these 2 phones I feel a bit nervous, and always have to carry a battery case for them.įor G2 and S7 (non-Edge) I don't have to worry about a battery case, but I still have a tiny and light (2000mAh) power bank, just to be sure my wireless JayBird BlueBuds X are always on, and to charge the phone if it cannot make it till next morning (when I need its alarm clock). IPhone 6s and S7 Edge take the third place, by the end of the day I typically have ~25% left (although I've never run out of juice completely with them). In two months of use, by the end of the day I have 40% of battery, but on 2 occasions I had just ~15 % after 16 hours on battery. Typically, by the end of the day I had at least 40% of battery. In 2 years of use, I ran out of battery only on 3 occasions and was really surprised by it. Of these phones, LG G2 by far has the best battery life. Bluetooth+GPS+WiFi always on, NFC always off (could not find a use it). On-battery time is typically 15 hours a day. I use the phone daily like this: (1) Facebook - 2 hours, (2) audiobooks - 3.5 hours, (3) RSS + web browsing - 2 hours, (4) movies (~1.5 GB per movie) - 1 hour. If you would rather save the money and go for performance and camera only, then the S7 does the job.I am an owner of LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4 (both Exynos and Snapdragon), Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (International/Exynos), Samsung Galaxy S7 (International/Exynos), and iPhone 6s (not TSMC, but Samsung chip, which is reportedly worse for battery life). That said, if you’re looking for a good looking smartphone, the Galaxy S7 Edge is the phone to pick. It performs better than others in the market, and it’s a premium phone to boot.
SAMSUNG S7 BATTERY LIFE REVIEW ANDROID
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the best Android smartphones in the market today, beaten only by the S7 Edge. This is pretty much the same as the S7 Edge as well. On most days, I got about 16-17 hours of battery life, but on lighter usage, the phone did get me through the day. So, even though it has a smaller display, the battery life is pretty much the same. While being as good as the S7 Edge is fine for every other feature, the S7 has a smaller battery compared to the Edge. In any other light conditions though, the phone is just as good as the Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung Galaxy S7 Camera Samples (L-R) Daylight,Studio White Lights,Indoor Lights,Low Light (Click to enlarge) Under low light, the S7 sometimes took blurry images, because we moved the camera too soon. That said, the final quality does remain more or less the same. While the camera on the Galaxy S7 is supposed to be similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge, our particular unit seems to be a tad slower on low light shots. It’s smooth, hindered occasionally by Touchwiz’s various chinks, but Samsung has made progress there as well. The Galaxy S7 can take any task that you throw at it, just as well as the S7 Edge could. The Exynos 8890 is an able processor, and it doesn’t have any heating issues, either. That said, the overall performance is pretty much the same, which still makes the S7 the most powerful Android phone in India right now, along with its Edge variant. The smaller display on the Galaxy S7 theoretically permits higher frame rates than the bigger Edge device. The Galaxy S7’s display is just as bright and sharp, and barring the lack of the Edge display, there’s little separating these two. The difference between 534ppi on the S7 Edge and 577ppi here, though, is not discernible. The smaller 5.1-inch QHD display on the S7 carries a high, 577ppi pixel density. Both the Galaxy S7 and Mi 5 are quite fingerprint intensive as well. If you want a compact Android flagship, there are few that compare to this one, barring the Xiaomi Mi 5. Overall, the Galaxy S7 may not have the stand-out appearance of the S7 Edge, but it’s a pretty good design. The lack of the front-facing Edge also makes it easier to pick this phone off a table, and it’s sufficiently light as well. It feels more solid than last year’s Galaxy S6, and the curve on the back makes it more ergonomic. It’s the same old Samsung design, but clad in premium glass and metal. While the S7 Edge has a striking design, the Galaxy S7 doesn’t. The Galaxy S7 has the curves on the back, but no Edge, making it significantly simpler than the Edge. If you’ve seen or used a Galaxy S7 Edge, you’ll find the design pretty similar, yet different.
